This past week the Shift Alerts Team attended the 2015 Apps for Health and Education conference, marking exactly 1 year since launching at the very same event in April 2014. Shift Alerts CEO Debbie Schmidt delivered a presentation during the mHealth Democamp portion, highlighting workflow productivity and quality patient care management.
Keynote speakers this year included Dr. Ann Cavoukian who is the Executive Director of Privacy and Big Data Institute at Ryerson University in Toronto, as well as We Are Wearables Founder Tom Emrich. In the past, Dr. Cavoukian served as the Information and Privacy Commissioner for the province of Ontario, and was named as one of the top 25 Women of Influence. Tom Emrich is an early tech adopter, creative, and founder of one of the fastest growing communities dedicated to IoT and wearable technology.
In attendance were also Mary Lou Ackerman of Saint Elizabeth Health Care, Sue Grills of Southlake Regional Health Center, Sarah Sharpe of QoC Health, and Ahmad M. Zbib of the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
We’ve had quite an eventful year since launching in 2014 at Apps for Health and Education. We’ve expanded the team by welcoming a new Chief Executive Officer and Chief Information officer, we’ve grown our product offering to include home care workers, as well as executed on many opportunities in the pipeline. Shift Alerts will be kicking it off with unveiling its Home Care platform at the 2015 eHealth Conference held in Toronto in June – what a great way to kick off the summer! We also have a ton of other exciting announcements just around the corner.
